I wonder, if someone asked you to name the titles of my books, could you? Well, I ain't mad at you if you can't, so here is what I am going to do. I am going to make a list of my titles for the next time you are at Amazon.com looking for a book for someone special.
Kids need to read more, don' t you think? "And guess you what" (That's a little Jamaican talk thrown in there.) Books by author Winona Rasheed will do the trick. I even have books with a collection of stories in them that will keep kids reading for days.
What a great way to end the day with a bedtime story, or share the book during circle time, or story time at school. Let an older sibling read to a younger sibling. I know, these aren't picture books, but you wait, I am going to come up with some of those too. With my books, you have to use a lot of imagination, for the characters will dance around in your head and you will see them not on the page, but indirectly.
Just an idea, children can read one of my books, and draw, and color what they think the characters look like. This suggestion are for those children in the 6-9 year-old bracket. Now that is using your noggin. Then if they like, they can send me a copy of the picture that they drew from whatever story, and I will post it on my blog and website. Just send it to me as an attachment and in the subject line write write the story title and senders name.
Now what do you think of that idea? Pretty clever, eh? I am looking forward to the responses, if any.
